WaterPower Canada’s 2022 Canadian Waterpower Week on September 21-23 will offer exclusive opportunities to make connections, build knowledge, and position for success with the largest electricity generation, transmission, and storage companies in Canada.
Ottawa, April 22, 2022 – On this Earth Day, WaterPower Canada is pleased to launch registration for its annual flagship event, the Canadian Waterpower Week.
Energy transition is one of the most urgent and complex challenges on the path to Canada’s resilient economic future, with significant electricity expansion being central to our success. Through the theme “Powerful Synergies for our Electric Future,” the 2022 Canadian Waterpower Week will explore the power of collaboration between businesses and technologies, energy resources and regions, and projects and people to maximize opportunities and minimize risks.
The event will welcome the hydropower and broader electricity sector from Canada, U.S. and abroad together in person in Toronto for the first time since 2019. Over three days of programming on September 21-23, attendees will build knowledge and gain exclusive insights, as well as network and position for success with the largest electricity generation, transmission, and energy storage companies in Canada.
We’re thrilled to have industry leaders and seasoned experts exploring where opportunities for cooperation exist, to accelerate progress toward our electric future. We are also pleased to announce that Chris Hadfield, Astronaut and first Canadian Commander of the International Space Station, will be the Gala Dinner speaker at our event.
We are anticipating a sold-out show, with 35 exhibitors sharing industry’s progress and innovation, and key sponsors leading and shaping the dialogue of the event.
You can register here and explore opportunities to sponsor or exhibit here. We can’t wait to welcome you at The Westin Harbour Castle!
“There is an urgent need to rapidly advance clean energy infrastructure and supply. Phasing out coal, powering industry and vehicles, or producing clean fuels and green hydrogen, all mean massive impending investments in the electricity system. Through this year’s theme “Powerful Synergies for our Electric Future,” we will be exploring the most impactful co-operations that the hydropower sector – Canada’s largest electricity generation, transmission, and storage companies – can lead or enable. Whether your energy business’ future success relies on producing or consuming hydroelectricity or connecting to a grid powered by water, this event is for you.”
– Patrick Bateman, Interim President, WaterPower Canada
